I wanted to add my own thoughts to the current INT-4 pricing situation and go a bit deeper. Anyone who remembers some of my older articles may not be surprised about what I will say… some of you may be offended however. Because I believe the only people to blame for the current situation are… we. No one else. Hasbro is not at fault. We are.
But please, let me explain, so click through and let’s have an honest debate and discussion!

I want to offer some lighthearted good old fun and entertainment for a change. We all need some good times, I think!
YouTube channel Secondhand Movie Co have produced their own special take on A New Hope, by making a fan movie that asks one very simple question: “What if Star Wars had had a budget of just $10?”.
So all the props, spaceships and vehicles and even stormtrooper costumes are made from cardboard. Beards are obviously fake. Actors play more than one role, Uncle Owen is also Old Ben, Aunt Beru also plays Han Solo, Chewie is a literal dog. Darth Vader is played by a little kid and an obvious hommage to Lord Helmet. So yes, it is also a parody.
At first you may think it’s all a bit silly, but then, suddenly you will be hooked, trust me. Of course they took some creative liberties and tried to make it all a bit humorous since it is also a parody, but then you will realise something… even if you strip away all the – back then – groundbreaking effects and production value the story is just so great, it’s timeless, it’s fun and a really good adventure. And the added funny bits will make you laugh. You will also admire their dedication to create everything from scratch just using cardboard.
And what you will also reventually realize is that this “$10 production” (it cost a bit more of course to make this fan movie) is better than almost anything Disney has produced since 2015, with the sole exception of Andor. This movie made me realize why I used to like and love Star Wars. Before the dark times, before the Mandalorian movie showed us how creatively bankrupt it all is now. Honestly, this ultra low budget movie is better than the $170 million thing they released in theaters three months ago. Not to mention it is also infinitely better than the sequel trilogy.
The video here is the 50 minute complete edition, they had released small clips before, but now you can enjoy it in full. And trust me, if you are willing to accept the humor you too will suddenly remember that Star Wars used to be good.

Over the weekend Hasbro experienced somewhat of a major PR disaster. Things turned south when the new INT-4 Vintage Collection set was put up for pre-order on Pulse. In the original press release the price for the set that contains one vehicle and one new figure was given as $51.99.
But TVC collectors were met with a nasty surprise when on the Pulse shop the price for the vehicle was now $79.99.
US collectors may be interested in knowing what this set costs elsewhere, in the Euro zone the set is 107.99€ – which is ca. $125. In the UK the price is £89.99 which is ca. $122. So as usual Europeans are price gouged and collecting Star Wars in Europe has become an expensive luxury basically. At current exchange rates $79.99 is 69€ btw. Even if you add ca 20% VAT (sales tax) and other fees a price tag that translates to $125 is difficult to justify.
To say that US collectors were less than amused when they found out the new price is now basically $80 is an understatement.
So what about you? What will your course of action be? Will you refuse to buy the set? Will you wait for eventual discounts? Or do you (maybe begrudingly so) pay the price and pre-order the set regardless?
I talked about the horrible value of Hasbro Star Wars in my article where I compare Black Series with Nacelle Star Trek figures. When will it reach a point that you (or we as a community) say “enough is enough”? Is that point now? Or will we keep buying overpriced things that used to be toys for kids, but are now priced as luxury items for adults who put them on a shelf? Even if the box still says “4+”?

We have an official return date for Ahsoka! Season 2 will premier on Disney+ on January 20th 2027. Several months before Starfighter will open in theaters. I suppose they want Ashoka to end before the big marketing push for Starfighter begins.
They also released a trailer! You can watch it after the jump!
Are you excited for Ahsoka season 2? My expectations are very low, given season 1 and the Mandalorian movie Filoni was also strongly involved with. But who knows, it may always be good….

Today I want to take a comparative look at the Black Series and how it measures up to other competing action figure lines on the market. I also think it may be interesting to see what other things are out there, how much they cost, what they are offering and how the Black Series fares overall when it comes to quality, price and most importantly fun factor and value.
And what better choice than to compare the two big space franchises? Star Trek vs Star Wars, this comparison never gets old. Nacelle has introduced a brand new Star Trek 6.5-ish inch action figure line to market. I thought it might be fun to see what other companies are doing with a well known IP and while Star Wars is of course overall more popular Star Trek is still a global phenomenon and beloved (despite the ongoing damage done to the IP for almost two decades now with first JJ Abrams and then Alex Kurtzman whose reign of terror will soon be over though). So how does a typical Black Series figure compare to a Nacelle Star Trek offering?

The Black Series had quite a few reveals including the reveal of an all new box design for 2027!
- Ahsoka & Jesse 2-pack (Disney Store exclusive in the US, no pre-order yet!)
- Rotta the Hutt – like the TVC counterpart Rotta will have a soft skin with internal skeleton. TBS Rotta also has an articulated mouth and even articulated eyes!
Then there are a couple of figures sourced from Darth Maul Shadow Lord and The Clone Wars!
- Marrok (repaint of the existing figure)
- Mandalorian Super Commando Kebris
- Icarus (one of the Zabraks on Maul’s team)
- Mother Talzin (TCW)
- Gar Saxon (TCW/Rebels)
And for roleplay they also revealed ARC Trooper Jesse’s helmet.
On top of that Hasbro announced the very first figure for their 50th anniversary campaign in 2027. And it’s Padmé Amidala in her Theed queen outfit. Her dress will be soft goods, so she’ll not be a traffic cone. But she’s of course not available for pre-order yet, Hasbro merely wanted to provide a first glimpse into 2027.
And then they revealed the all new box design for The Black Series. You can see a potato cam version of that below! There will be no more drawings or other artwork, instead the box will feature photos of the actual figure.
